Avid has meant so much to my family over the past year. My son was diagnosed with a moderate speech delay and was barely verbal at 3 years old. After the initial evaluation and a few sessions, speech therapy became a bright spot in my week because of how much energy and focus went into developing my son’s communication skills. Sometimes I felt like every therapist knew my son personally. Narissa told me that, yeah, they discuss progress and strategies amongst each other. I sometimes even get homework to carry over strategies at home. We moved to teletherapy for a period during the shelter-in-place orders, and that was more productive than I thought. Overall, Avid Speech is a top notch organization if you’re seeking speech services in Orange County, and I’m thrilled to share it.
Our 2-year old son started at Avid just three months ago when his speaking ability was limited to only a few simple words. Fast forward to 90 days later and now we cannot stop him from talking, singing and absorbing new words everyday. Each morning when our son comes to the Avid learning center, he gets excited and can’t wait to interact with the staff and therapists. My wife and I could not be happier at the progress he’s made with the help from the wonderful staff at Avid. We are lucky to have found such a wonderful place where our son is treated with the utmost care while he learns and grows. Thank you to Narissa, Jason and the entire staff.
The staff at Avid is simply exceptional, and the feedback/progress reporting is better and more thorough than any other clinic or school we’ve worked with in Orange County. Speech therapy sessions for my five year old with Narissa and Jason through Zoom have been a terrific alternative to our traditional in-person sessions. We were a bit skeptical at first at how effective the lessons would be without their physical presence but quickly realized that it wasn’t so much the physical presence that was necessary, but the genuine motivation, knowledge and patience that the team at Avid brings that makes each session worth while. These digital sessions are the perfect solution for times when in-person meetings are simply not an option.
